Trial Victory in Tarrant County
October 1, 2007Michael Baum, who served as lead counsel, recently obtained a defense verdict in a negligence case tried to a Tarrant County jury.
The plaintiff alleged that American Ironhorse Motorcycle Company, a non-subscriber, was negligent for failing to have appropriate policies, safeguards and monitoring in place. As a result of an injury at the company's facility in 2003, the plaintiff claimed he was permanently and totally disabled and unable to return to the workforce. He sought more than $250,000 in lost wages. After a four day trial, the jury returned a unanimous verdict, finding no negligence on the part of American Ironhorse and awarding zero damages.
After the trial, the CEO of American Ironhorse said, "Michael Baum tenaciously represented us and was eminently prepared for trial. Michael's courtroom presence and persuasion skills were superb. I was proud to have him as our attorney."
